Disability attachment program

Funded by the federal government Department of Social Services via a Building Employer Confidence grant, the Inclusive Crewing Project supported the largest disability employment on a feature film in Australia.

Bus Stop Films employed over 10 people with disability on the production across the 21 days of filming in key crew departments including camera, production, hair and make up, sound, lighting and directing, editing, making this the largest attachment program for people with disability on a long form film.

Bus Stop Films brought together their inclusive filmmaking practices and principles to support these 10 individuals alongside an infrastructure supported by key Candidate Placement Coordinators and on Set Support workers.

A true case study in the value add of inclusive employment and meaningful career pathways for people from the Deaf, Disabled and Nerodiverse community.

Want to make your production inclusive? To help build your skills, Bus Stop Films has launched new resources for Heads of Department. Hiring and working inclusively just got easier. #inclusivefilmmaking
